Work Plan for 2010

1. Execute matters related to the reviewing and awarding of “The Lee Fund Graduate and Doctoral Dissertation Awards”
2. Execute matters related to the reviewing and awarding of “The Adolescent Development Awards”
3. Execute matters related to the reviewing and awarding of “The Adolescent Scholar Awards”
4. Continue to aid “Taiwan Society for Adolescent Medicine and Health” while continuing to promote the education and training of medical matters.
5. Start to execute matters related to the financial support towards students of Chung Shan Medical University and Chung Shan Medical Institute regarding the application and review of international exchange programs.
6. Apply for the construction and launching of the national website: http://www.leefund.org.tw
7. Create a donor contact list (emails not included) to inform our donors of news regarding Lee Fund’s events via postal mailing.

8. Research, discuss and plan matters regarding the “New Immigrant Offspring Education and Development Awards” and the “Approach to Awarding Nursery School Students on International Exchange Opportunities”.


Work Plan for 2009

        1. Execute matters related to the reviewing and awarding of “The Lee Fund Graduate and Doctoral Dissertation Awards”
2. Execute matters related to the reviewing and awarding of “The Adolescent Development Awards”
3. Execute matters related to the reviewing and awarding of “The Adolescent Scholar Awards”
4. Continue to aid “Taiwan Society for Adolescent Medicine and Health” while continuing to promote the education and training of medical matters.
5. Release Lee Fund’s music album: “Love and Kindness” including an educational booklet “Lee Fund Love and Kindness English Grammar”.
6. Prepare on matters related to the re-issue of Lee Fund publication: “ABMAC in Taiwan” (American Bureau for Medical Aid to China in Taiwan).
7. Plan out the first co-sponsored health seminar across Taiwan, China and Hong-Kong on the subject: “Adolescent Sex Education and Reproduction” in Shanghai with the following organizations:
- Institute of Medicine and Health Care for Adolescents in Taiwan
- Association of Birth Control in China
- Peking University Institute of Adolescent Health

       

- The Chinese University of Hong Kong

2009 Work Report

1. Award winners of “The Lee Fund Graduate and Doctoral Dissertation Awards” are selected.
a) Masters Thesis: “The Relationship between Adolescent Body Mass Index and Adulthood Obesity” by Master Xian-Liang Huang; Instructing Professors: Prof. Mei-Shu Lai and Prof. Guo-Jing Huang.
b) Masters Thesis: “The Relationship Between Social Capital and Smoking – Using Middle School Students in Northern Taiwan as Subjects” by Master Jun-Yuan Cheng; Instructing Professors: Prof. Lan Lee, Doctor Jun-Hao Huang.
2. Award winner of “The Adolescent Development Awards” is selected.
Award goes to the “Chung Shan University, Department of Family and Community Medicine, Resident Doctors’ Development Fund”. (The training of specialists in adolescent medicine)
3. Award winners of the “Lee Fund Adolescent Scholar Award” are selected.
Awards go to:
(1) Prof. Qian-Dai- Jiang
(2) Prof. Die-Qi Zhong
(3) Prof. Dan-Gui Liu
The above recipient representatives attend the “First Adolescent Sex Education and Reproductive Health Forum” across Taiwan, China and Hong-Kong.
4. Co-sponsor “Seminar on Sex Education and Reproductive Health across Taiwan, China and Hong-Kong” in Nin Po, China, on June 24th, 2009.
5. Continue to raise funds for Lee Fund’s subsidiary “Academic Fund”.
6. Issue Lee Fund’s 4th season newsletter.

7. Lee Fund board of trustees conference meets twice a year in January and July; work report meetings are assembled every other month starting February.

5. Participate in the operation of the “Taiwan Medical Alliance for the Control of Tobacco”, in order to endorse for youth tobacco control.

6. Commence the operations and management of Lee Fund’s “Medical Education Fund”.

b) Masters Thesis: “The Study of the Relationship between Parental Factors and Infant Health: Taiwan Birth Cohort Study, Research (36 months) and results”. by Master Shao-Liang Zhu; Chun Shan Medical University, Institute of Medicine; Instructing Professor: Prof. Meng-Ji Lee
c) PhD Thesis: “A Theoretical Discussion of the Factors of Drinking Behaviors amongst Adolescents, From the Perspective of Social Cognition”; by PhD: Zhao-Jia Hong; National Taiwan University, School of Health Care, Organization Administration; Instructing Professor: Prof. Lan Lee.
2. Award winner of “The Adolescent Development Awards” is selected.
Award goes to “Chung Shan Medical University, Institute of Medicine, The Medical Service Team”
3. Award winner of the “Lee Fund Adolescent Scholar Award” is selected.
Award goes to music composer Yi Chou. Graduated from Berklee College of Music, Yi Chou was commissioned by Lee Fund to compose and produce original music album: “Love and Kindness”, including 3 musical movements: Perseverance, Kindness, and Uprising.  The music is styled by eastern, western, classical and popular elements. The audio CD will be released soon for your kind consideration.
4. Newsletters regarding Lee Fund updates and activities are periodically issued and sent to the board of trustees and donors.

5. Lee Fund website is under constant update and management.

b) Masters Thesis: “The Study of the Relationship between Parental Factors and Infant Health: Taiwan Birth Cohort Study, Research (18 months) and results” by Master Jin-Cheng Xu; Chun Shan Medical University, Institute of Medicine; Instructing Professor: Prof. Meng-Ji Lee
c) PhD Thesis: “Effectiveness of the project on the Prevention of Needle Stick Injury for Nursing School Graduates”; by PhD: Ya-Hui Yang; Kaohsiung Medical University, Institute of Occupational Safety and Health; Instructing Professor: Prof. Cong-Neng Wu and Prof. Jun-Yu Yang.
2. Award winner of “The Adolescent Development Awards” is selected. The award goes to “Chung Shan University, Department of Family and Community Medicine, Resident Doctors’ Development Fund”, in encouragement of young MDs to further their research and education in medicine.
3. President of Lee Fund: Prof. Meng-Chi Lee, publishes the book: “ABMAC and Taiwan” in March, 2007 with the sponsorship of the DOH (Department of Health).
4. A donation of 200 plus books and documentations on the WHO (World Health Organization) is made to Chung Shan Medical University. A ceremony was held at 9am on May 11th, 2007 in the reading room on the 2nd floor of the university’s library for the exposition of the donated books.
5. In hopes of upsizing the collection of books on medicine at different universities in Taiwan, Lee Fund establishes a special fund to donate medicine related books to universities. We have received numerous letters of appreciation in the recent months. 

       

6. President Meng-Chi Lee is awarded “Taiwan Representative of the ABMAC Foundation” and establishes an advisory committee, naming UCSD alumni Prof. Xin Qian as chairman. DOH (Department of Health) former president Ming-Liang Lee, NHRI (National Health Research Institutes) former president Cheng-Wen Wu, and Mr. Kun-Yan Huang from the Committee on Medical Science Education join the team as consuls.


Work Plan for 2006

  1. Scheduled board meetings are held (January and July).
  2. The foundation’s annual reports are completed.
  3. Execute matters related to the reviewing and awarding of “The Lee Fund Graduate and Doctoral Dissertation Awards” (June)
  4. Execute matters related to the reviewing and awarding of “The Adolescent Development Awards” (June)
  5. Continue to participate and promote the work of “Taiwan Medical Alliance for the Control of Tobacco”.
  6. Sponsor the development of “Taiwan Society for Adolescent Medicine and Health”.

Lee Fund’s electronic workflow is completed.

a) Masters Thesis: “Two-stage survey on eating disorder among Genius students of dancing” by Master Mei-Zhi Zeng; Instructing Professor: Prof. Wei-Zhu Ji.
b) Masters Thesis: “Utilization of interactions manual by parents for prevention of drugs abuse in adolescents”, by Master Jia-Ling Chen; Instructing Professor: Prof. Jie-Xin Chen.
c) Masters Thesis: “Association of conspicuous consumption and lifestyles and strategies for stress adaptation”; by Master: Yu-Jun Lin; Instructing Professor: Prof. Hua-Yuan Zeng.
2. Award winner of “The Adolescent Development Awards” is selected. Awards go to:
(a) Bunun Cultural and Educational Foundation
(b) Chung Shan University, Group Benefit Society
3. The planning, assessment and preparation of the “Medical Education Fund” has been approved by relevant authorities.
4. Continue to aid “Taiwan Society for Adolescent Medicine and Health” while continuing to promote the education and training of medical matters.
5. Lee Fund participates in the founding of “Taiwan Medical Alliance for the Control of Tobacco”. Lee Fund President Meng-Chi Lee is elected chairman while trustee Wei-Ya Wu is elected council member.
6. Lee Fund chairman Meng-Chi Lee and trustee Shu-Xing Lee attend the 12th “World Conference of Tobacco Control” in Washington DC. They submit protest documents and walk onto the streets of Capitol Hill and The White House in protest for the cause of adolescent tobacco control.
7. The bill of “Lee Fund Scholarship” is being drafted.”
